Donald W. White was elected Clermont County Prosecuting Attorney in 1988. He was re-elected in 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008.
Mr. White is a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association, Clermont County Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association Executive Committee and served as Amicus Committee Chairman from 1998-2001, Secretary in 2002, Treasurer in 2003 and Vice President in 2004. As a member of the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association, Mr. White has also served as the Legislative Committee Chariman in 2005, President Elect in 2005 and President in 2006. From 2007-2008, he represented the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association at the National District Attorneys Association and has remained a member-at-large. Mr. White has served as a member of The Ohio Sentencing Commission from 2001 to present. He was a member of the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Continuing Legal Education from 2001-2007.
Mr. White, prior to becoming Prosecuting Attorney, worked for United Parcel Service from 1965-1974 as a Loader/Unloader, Student Supervisor and Employment Manager. He was an Assistant Clermont County Prosecuting Attorney from 1974-1976. He began his private practice with Nichols, Speidel & Nichols in 1976.
A graduate from Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Mr. White was admitted to the Practice of Law in the State of Ohio, the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit, in 1973. He was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States in 1979.
Mr. White was married in 1968. He has three children and five grandchildren. He has been actively involved in our community as a member of the American Cancer Society Clermont Unit from 1974-1981 and served as President from 1979-1980. He coached girls soccer at Glen Este from 1975-1982 and boys SAY soccer from 1982-1989. Mr. White also coached Milford Community and Knothole Baseball from 1977-1985. From 1985-1991 he was a member of the St. Andrews Education Commission and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Education Commission, representing St. Martin Deanery. Mr. White has served on the UC Clermont Advisory Committee from 1993-2001. Since 2003, he has been serving as a Board Member for the Clermont County Boys & Girls Club.
